Friendship Day Preparation

Yesterday, after coming back home, I sat down near my favorite window in my room and looked at the stars to only realize that though miles apart few people always remain deep in your heart. Wish if I could speak to Natalie, but she is quite busy right now. Even I have lotz of things to finish within the next two weeks.......the ecard site that I am working for. There is a friendship site that I have designed lately and you folks don't forget ;) to check the site and send cards to your beloved friends.

Itz only two weeks left for Friendship day and I still have so many things to be done. I am still left with wrapping the gifts that I bought the other day, I will definitely do it this week. Last week I baked a cake for Mum and Dad (it was their anniversary), and they simply loved it............:)Mum asked me to bake one, for my friendship day party .......thats a good idea. I am making an extra effort to give Jason a hand made card, he will love that.

I met up with Ray today in the afternoon to talk about what music he should play and all, and I requested him to get some stuff by Paul Van Dyk and Sasha.. Lately I am hooked into this numbers which is rocking my ears...and ofcourse there would be numbers like 'Hotel California' and 'Summer of 69' to take us back to those old days.

I am almost done with my shopping except for a few things. Till now the invitations have all been sent, and all are coming over. But I am yet to sent friendship day ecards to lotz of friends and also planning to send flowers to my professional friends.

Think I should make a list now so that I miss nothing;)........lolz.

Friendship Day Gifts

Truly great friends are hard to find,
difficult to leave,
and impossible to forget....G. Randolf.

This week was really hectic. I had to buy gifts for all my friends. So I and Brenda went to this little shop which sells coffee mugs, photo frames, cards and cds. They were really good but I was actually looking for something special.......something that would remind my friends about the day forever. The shopkeeper asked me to try personalised gifts. It sounded good. We went for engraved mugs.........the friendship quotes were really unique. For Natalie I am taking a mug engraved with mine and her picture and for Jason, a t-shirt imprinted with our photograph:)........hehe...I think it would be a real good hint!!

Who finds a faithful friend, finds a treasure.

A friend like you is like a precious gem...

hard to find...difficult to part with and treasured forever.

To a friend who's always close to my heart!

Happy Friendship Day!

This afternoon I was checking out sites which are really good... all regarding Friendship Day Poems and messages. As I wanna different and unique decoration so Amy suggested to use these quotes and poems in the balloons and ribbons. They are simply awesome and perfect to depict my emotions. Well there are some other friends too who won't be able to come, so I am going to call or sms them some lovely messages. Ofcourse I will be sending them cards too. Here are some really sweet and cute Friendship Day Quotes for you to share with friends....... and don't forget to send these Friendship Day Cards and wishes to let them know how special they are!!!

Friendship Day Party

Richer than chocolates
Cooler than ice cream
Sweeter than strawberries
Dessert for my soul.........
..........is all that describes your friendship.

The most cherishable moment of your life is when you meet old friends. You realize how much you have been missing them and having them around will remind you, of all those golden moments that you spend together. I am still trying to stick to my new year's resolutions. I am arranging a reunion party on this Friendship day.

Yesterday, I called up Natalie and Jason, they are coming to town and now we have another good reason to celebrate. I have a huge basement which I'm going to decorate with the best materials possible and also have the plans to get flowers (synthetic I guess)and ribbons. Amy will be doing the decoration. There is a friend, Ray, he is a part-time DJ and he will get the sound and lights done. Brett is quite busy with his job, so I don't think he can help us anyway. Brenda said, she will be helping me to get the food stuffs. Some of my old school mates and college buddiez are also coming. These are the people whom I got back in some online friendship community. I am sending Friendship Day Ecards to them as an invitation. There would be around 25 peoples all together.

Lately I am really interested in baking cakes and cooking food ,though not that great to taste but the effort matters...So I guess I will be cooking something for my friends, especially for Jason. I'll also get some European Beer for Natalie. So the menu would be: starter is beer with Salmon Tartar, and then lots of red wine with Beef Brisket. I will cook Salmon Tartar, hope Jason will love it....know what I mean;)!! And here goes the recipe for you folks.

Salmon Tartar

Serves 4

Ingredients:

1lb trimmed salmon flesh
1 tbsp chopped chives
2 medium chopped shallots
1tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp chopped coriander
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
A few drops of Tabasco sauce and Worcestershire sauce (Optional)

Method:

Cut the salmon in to small cubes (about 0.08inch); or grind in a meat grinder, using the biggest holes available.
Place in a mixing bowl.
Add the chives, the shallots, the coriander, the olive oil, salt and pepper, Tabasco and Worcestershire sauce if you have chosen to use them.
Mix everything well.
Check the taste and correct if necessary.
Serve casually in the mixing bowl or arrange the salmon tartar on plates with a garnish of cherry tomato, chives, parsley, and salad leaves.

Friendship Day

Friendship day is all about fun, celebration and to make your friends realize how special they are. But I actually understood the real significance of a friend in life when I was in my High school.

It was during those school days that Natalie and I were neighbours. We were very much different; Natalie was soft spoken, shy and reserved for which others bullied her a lot, whereas I was the total opposite - outspoken, demanding, extrovert and very popular. Obviously I never hanged out with her in the school, but we travelled to and from the school together. It was during this time that I came to know her. There was something special in this girl, that caught my eyes. We gradually started speaking over the phone a lot during which I told her about my secret crush, about which only two other friends were aware of. It was Bradly, our High School Football team captain on whom I harbored this crush.
But he was already going on with Ginnie, a classmate of ours, so I really had fat chances for which I never wanted to let many people know about this. Ironically, the very next day when I told Natalie about Bradly, the whole school too came to know about it. Everyone was bullying me and Bradly gave such a look at me which was so embarassing that it made me burst into tears. Quite naturally my first suspect was Natalie, and I was just waiting for a chance to get a hand on her. Suddennly, I saw her rushing towards me, but before I reached her, Ginnie and her gang got me. Ginnie threw a paper on my face which I recognised to be the love note about Bradly which I wrote the other day and left on my desk by mistake. They insulted me like anything and no friends of mine but Natalie was beside me. Despite being so shy and reserved in nature she gave such a tough fight that even a bigmouth like Ginnie could not utter a single word. I felt so guilty for suspecting Natalie. But from that day we became Best Friends. Even after so many years we still have the same bonding and love for each other.
